    Silent Echoes
  by Sam Freek

The sun flickered
I bowed my head
Not wanting to press continue
My life had become a game show of unanswered questions

I shouted into the empty cave
"Who am I?"
Only the echo of myself replied
So I shouted into the empty cave again
"Tell me who I am"
Again, only my echo replied
Once more I shouted into the empty cave
"Who am I now?"

Silent echoes filled the air

I sundered into a large void

Then I realised this flavourless existence was my temporary residence
